NEW ZEALAND V. QUEENS. " LAND PINE. Received 8,12.47 a.m. Biisbank, May 2, At the Tariff Commission, Mr Branisch, analytical chemist in the Depart. mentof Agriculture, deposed that a severe analytical test had shown difference in the physical and ohemicajK properties of Queensland and New ~ Zealand pine used in butter boxes. Butter whieh had been enclosed for ' sixty-nine days in boxes made ot Queensland timber, was absolutely free from any woody flavour, whereas there was a distinct woody flavour is butter packed for the samo length of time in Now Zealand boxes.
