A KISMARKABLE APPEAL. ALL DENOMINATIONS ASSISTING. Keccived 1,11.35 p.m. London, May 1. The Archbishops of Canterbury and York, the Moderator of the Church of Scotland, the Primus of the Episcopal Scottish Church, and heads of NonConformist Churohos addrossed an appeal |to the clergy, notwithstanding current controversies, for prayers, on Whit-Sunday, for the re-union of the Christian ohurches. Archbishop Bourne (Roman Catholio Archbishop of Westminster) wrote, sympathising, but stating that it was not in accordance with the customs of his church to sign a joint appeal. He felt he could help most by working on traditional lines.
