The works were vis/led on Satnrray and Sunday by large numbers of people, who evinced a lively interest in the bore, especially when the , manager gratified their curiosity by Opening the taps, allowing the oil to rus?! out in great volume.! Pumping will be resumed to-day, and' it is hoped that the pressure, will be sufficient to clear ilie pipes of all remaining sand and mud. Should that happen, tfcerc will then be no hindrtuee to continuous pumping, and the capacity of the oil well should soou be proved. Arrangement* are already in hani for the formation of a large company to exploit the field and erect refinery works, and will be put on the Biar,' ket very shortly, if the indications re- s main as promising as at present. The probable capital of the company Will be £IOO,OOO. Shares in the boring syndi ' cate arc at present in considerable de--1 mand, and sales at £l4 have been re- ! ported.
