MAYORAL ELECTIONS.

(Special to News.) Stbatfoud, April 24. Only a fair amount of interest was taken in the Mayoral election at Stratford to-day, wliich resulted in the return of the present Mayor, Mr N. J. King, who polled 304 votes. Mr B. McK, Morrison, the defeated candidate, secured 93 votes, and there were fife informal. The Mayor.olect, in a brief address, returned thanks.

The Mayoral elections resulted:— Oaslow Borough : R. B. Williams 393, P. J. O'Rogan 239 ; Petone: Geo. T. London 303, H. Findlay 360. Westpobt, April 26. Mr G. H. Gothard was ro-elocted mayor of Westport by a majority of 557, over Mr T. Samuel. Mabton, April 25. John F. Sicely was elected Mayor of Marton to-day by over 100 majority. Gobe, April 25. The Gore mayoral election resulted: —A. A. Mac Gibbon 408, J. Spendon 226. Wanoanci, April 20. The mayoral election resulted:—C. L. Mackay 1191, A. G. Bigucll (present mayor) 1055. The contest was the keenest on record. Nafieb, April 25. Mr S. Carroll was to-day re-elected mayor of Napier for tho third term, defeating two ex-councillors, Messrs McGrath and Cranby, Mr T. J. Thompson, an ox-councillor, was elected mayor of Hastings, defeating the prcsont mayor, Mr W. Y. Dennett, bj sixty votes. ,

Nelson, April 26. Considerable interest was taken in the election of mayor, which resulted in the return of Jesse Piper, with a majority of 151 over J. B. Harrison. W. Leek was 112 behind the second candidate. Auckland, April 25. Littlo interest was taken in tho Mayoral election for the City, tho result being regarded as a foregone conclusion. The polling resulted in the re-eleotion of tho present Mayor (Mr A. M. Myers), who received 1684 votes, his opponont Mr A. P. Bradley receiving 89 votes. At Onehunga, Mr J. Rowe was elected, defeating the present Mayor (Mr Angus Gordon) by 97 votes. There were no other contests locally.
