The Christchurch Prainage Board's proposal to raise £IOO,OOO for the purpose of increasing tho plant at the pumping station and extending the sewerage system, was adopted by tho ratepayers to-day, 1030 supporting it and 285 opposing it, giving a margin of Ha over the three-fifths majority required.
