ABLE SERVICES INTERRUPTED
SUPPOSED SUBMARINE DISTURBANCE. THREE WEEKS' DHL AY ANTICIPATED. W ELLtxGTOtf, April 23. Tlie Eastern Ext'nsion Company's two cables connecting Sydney with Wakapuaka were interrupted at ten minutes past eleven to-day. Mr P. H. Selfe, New Zealand manager, states that the point of breakage is 339 knots from Wilt ipuaka lie thinks that communis .lion may be restored in about thr v weeks' time. Every effort will be made to restore the lines as soon as possible. The interruption oame so suddenly that it is surmised there has been a submarine disturbance, as in ordinary breakages there ia usually some warning, but there was none in this case. Only a fortnight ago an exhaustive test of the cables was made, and they were found sound,
