NEW PLYMOUTH BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Tho Works Committee of the New Plymouth Borough Council met on Thursday evening, when there were present: His Worship tire Mayor, Crs. Browne, Ewing, Hutchcn, M'onteath, and Webster. Recommendations wilt be made to the Council as under:—

That the Borough Engineer be authorised to fence off a paddock at the abattoirs for Messrs. Gamlin & Co., they paying a rental of £1 per aero per annum for the same. That Messrs. Sole Bros, be informed that the Council expects them to clear the gorsc at their own expense from the paddock at the Abattoir lieservc, lately leased to them. That Messrs. Sole Bros, be granted a water supply to their boiling down establishment at the Abattoir, they paying all cost of connection and an annual fee of £2 10s.

That, provided tlioy undertake to return it in good order, the West End School Committee be granted the use of the tar boiler for one week free of charge. That the terms ef payment of the eost of water connection offered by Mr F. G. Hunc be accepted, provided he adds 5 per cent interest; that he be informed that should any property within the Borough be connected witli the main in question, a.proportionate refund, to be fixed by the Council, will be made to him,

That the Borough Engineer be instructed to lay a sewer in Ciover street, from Devon to Courtenay street.

That the offer of Messrs. Brown A Co. to supply sufficient timber to kerb the footpath in front of their premises be accepted, and the Engineer be authorised to have it lixed.

That a progress payment of £2O lis be made to Mr L. Lilley for fencing at thp Power House licserve, and that his deposit be also returned. That the specification for cartage of boulders be approved, {and tenders be called for the work.
