PEA RIFLE FATALITY.
LEGISLATIVE {ACTION UfiGED. FEB PBESS ASSOCIATION. Dunbdin, April 18. An inquost was held to-day touching the death of George C. H. Victor Brookes, aged 15 years. Tho evidence showed that deceased purchased a toy pistol and placed a cartridge in it. Tho hammer being stiff, deceased placed the nozzle against his stomach and triod to push tho hammer back, when it slipped, and the charge exploding, the bullet entered his abdomen and probably lodged 111 the muscles of the back. The jury returned a verdict of accidental death, with a rider expressing the desirability of sonic legislative enactment, by which the indiscriminate sale of firearms, particularly to juveniles, should be curtailed.
