GOLF TOURNAMENT.
Tho final round of the Taranaki Championship between Burns, of Auckland, and Bates of Wnnganui, was played on Tuesday morning, and resulted in an easy win for Burns by 7 up and 5 to play. Burns played a brilliant game,' and Bates was a good deal below lus form of the-previous day. UDlKs' MHIUI, HANDICAP-—0 IIOI.ES. Mrs Oswin, Mrs Spencer, and Miss Hoskin tied witji scores of 11. In the play off of 12 holes Mrs Oswin, Mrs Spencer, and Mrs Morrison again tied with 27. In the play off Mfs Oswin won with 29. Men's No. I Competition: Batnford, Auckland 10. Men's No. 2 Competition; Holds, worth and Hamlin tied with 11. In the play off of 12 holos, ]3urns, Auckland, won with a score of 26.

At llie conclusion of the Tournament Mr Standish, the President of the Club, in a felicitious spcoch, congratulated tlie Club on the great success of the [meeting aud expressed the hope tliat it would become an annual event. He specially thanked the visitors for their cordial support, and, in particular, the Auckland team. Votes of thanks to the committee of management aud to the ladies providing afternoon tea were also passed. Mr Bamford, in replying for tlie visitors, expressed their keen appreciation of the hospitality extended, and highly praised the local course. Tlie Tournament was in all respects highly successful, and it is hoped that in future years full teams from Auckland, Wangauui, Palmcrston and Wellington will be sent to compete for a shield which it is proposed to establish.
