VESUVIUS.
RENEWED ERUPTIVE ACTIVITY. INHABITANTS IN DANGER OF SUFFOCATION. RESCUED FROM LIVING GRAVES.
Received IG, 9.1 a.m. Rome, April 15. Two Eumilies o£ ten persons were dug out, alive, from a cave at Ottaiano, where there were twelve feet of ashes. A mother and a new horn infant were also rescued from the ruins. A fresh outbreak has occurred at Vesuvius. Dense showers of ashes threaten to suffocate tho inhabitants of Ottaiano, San Guisoppe and Tensigne, many of whom returned to their homes when the Krst outburst subsided. J All available transport is hastening j to the spot. j
AWFUL DARKNESS. FALL OF ASHES DECREASING. Received 10,0 p.m. Romb, April 10. The fall of ashes about Vesuvius is again beginning to decrease. The awful darkness was the chief cause of the latest -panic.
