AUSTRALIAN J.C. MEETING. Keceived 14, 6.2 p.m. Sydney, [April 11. The weather was fine and hot, and the attendance very large at the opening oE the Australian Jockey Club's Meeting. Kesults First Hurdles: Olynthus 1, Southhead 2, Gundare 3. Thirtcon started. Won by two lengths. Time, 1.18.
Autumn Stakes: Marvel Loch 1. Gladsome 2, Tartan 3. There were seven starters. The winner was the best away. Along the back, Gladsome moved up and followed Marvel Loch into the straight, and a great race home resulted. Won \by half-a-length. Time, 2.35.' Sires' Produce Stakes: Collarit 1, Disaster 2, Antonius 3. Seven starters. Collarit led all the way, and won, pulling up, by a length and a-half. Time, 1.16 J.
DoXCASTEB HaKDICAP. Little Toy 1 Duke Melton 2 Noucen 3 Charles Stuart did not start. The first to move was Cake Walk, followed by Refrain. At six furlongs the order was: Refrain, Airloch, Cake Walk, [Wgun, and Mutation. Rounding the bend, Airloch went to the front. Maniapoto led into the straight, and Little Toy joined issue at the distance and won comfortably by three lengths, the same distance between second and third. Time, 1.39*. St. Lcgcr: Lady Wallace 1, Kaffirpan 2, Charles Stuart 3. Tho only starters. Charles Stuart and Kaffirpan together made the running till entering the straight, when Lady Wallace went to the front and won by two lengths, Time, 3.10;}. High-weight Handicap: Handsome 1, Jester 2, Jaekeroo 3. Nineteen started. Won by a short length. Time, 1.15.
NOTES AND BETTING. Received 15, 5.10 p.m. Sydney, April 15. The Doncaster time was a record. Noreen finished very fast and just managed to beat Maniapoto for third place. Machine Gun did not start. In the Heigh-weight Handicap, Handsome's price was 16 to 1. There was a big attendauce at Tattersall's Club last night at the calling of the Cup card, and business was brisk. Fitz-Grafton was backed for L6OUO at 100 to 3, 3i and 4; Gladsome L7OOO at B's, 9's and 10's; Lord Ullin's Daughter LOOOO at 4's and4J; Ossian for L 12.000 (principally by his owner)' at B's, 9's and 10's; Maniapoto for L 2.500 at 2's and 3's i Zenda L 14.000 at 1 and I\.
