Color-Sergeant Armitage, of the IVanaki Rifles, has been promoted to Battalion Sergeant-Major. Ho has been elected a life honorary member of the Rides, with whieh he lias been eonneetcd for fourteen years, aud during the last ten years has only missed three parades. At Ashburlon last night, Mr MeLaehlin, M.H.R., was eulertaiued by bis political supporters at a bawjuct.
