Mr Ernest D. Benjamin, one of the managing directors of Messrs L. D. Nathan and Co., was in New Plymouth on Saturday, Hon. James Carroll, Minister for Native Affairs, arrives from Ouehunga this morning, and proceeds direct to Wellington by the mail train. Hon. C. H. Mills, Minister of Customs, arrived in New Plymouth on Saturday evening from Stratford. Yesterday he visited tho school cadet encampment at Sentry Hill. Ho leaves for Wellington this morning by tho express.

Mr T. M. Donovau, representing John P. Sheridan's 'Earl and the Girl' Company is in town arranging for the appearance of the company at the Theatre lioyal on Wednesday 10th inst.
