MOUNTAIN HOUSE COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the North Egmont Houso Committee was held on Friday evening.
The action of the chairman) Mr W. A. Collis, in expending £lO towavds opening out the track to Bell's Falls | was confirmed.
Mr Collis reported that he had supplied views to illustrate an article about to appear in the " Bed Funnel" magazine, and had erected guide-posts to Bell's Falls and to the Stratford House.—His action was approved. It was decided to spend up to £2O in fasceening bad parts of the track, in order to keep communication open in the winter months.
In tho event of the National Park Board not acquiring ambulance stretchers, the secretary of this committee will write to the Tourist Department on this matter.
The matter of having agate erected, in order to give access to the lvaitake ranges through Mr Richardson's property, was left to the Chairman to aprange with Mt Richardson. Prices are to be obtained for erecting a veraudah at the cottage, and fa' re-instating the verandah at the main house.
