TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. AUTUMN MEETING. lUy'ittoTi'noA. ! The Autumn Meeting of the above Club will be held to-day and to-morrow. The first event is timed to sturt at noon. Most of the visiting horses have put in an nppearauee, and Hie local course presented quite a lively appearance yesterday morning. Owing to the boisterous \yeather preventing the Kitoiti from negotiating the bar yesfcerdiy, Messrs. J. Chadwick and C. O'Connor, haiidicapper and starter, will be unable to reach New Plymouth in time for the first day's racing. The Club have made arrangements with Mr R. Mcßae, of Manaia, to frame the handicaps for the second day s events. Mr C. H. Chavannes will hive charge of the starting barrier. The double-event totalisator will, no doubt, evince a lot of interest. The coupled events to-day are the First Hack Handicap and Taranaki Cup. The oatering is in the capable hands of Messrs. Angus and Thompson. Music will be dispensed each day by the Military Band, under Bandmaster Garry. Messrs. Mclsaaes and Wrigley, of the Terminus Hotel, will provide liquid refreshments at the booths. Though in some events the fields are small there is every indication that the handicapping will be productive of some close finishes. The following are the probable riders )b the Cupl'ari-
