The cricket match, New Zealand r, Melbourne C.C., was brought to a con. elusion at Lancaster Park to-day, and ended in a draw, greatly in favor of the t visitors, The. weather was fine but cold, a son'-west gale blowing all day, which prevented the bails being used most of the time. New Zealand, who were 151 runs to the bad on the first innings, began their second venture which closed at 1.20 p.m. for 167, Melbourne ouly required 17 to but owing to the North Island players having to leave Christchureh by the 5.25 train for Lyttelton, it was agreed Ic draw stumps at half past four. In New Zealand's second innings Tucker scored 43 (not out), Graham 36, Lusk 29, Monaghan. 17, Downes 18, Hickson 8, Redgravo 7, Boxsfcall 5, and Ollivior, Brooke-Smith and Malone each nil.
Armstrong secured four wickets for It \ McLcod, four Ix 76; Butler, one for 0; L&vcr, one for 3.. Final scores: Now Zealand, 77 and 167, Melbourne, 228.
