CiiKisTcm ani, March 20, In the [opening Ode competition iu connection with the Exhibition, 69 poems were received from New Zealand, Victoria, and New South Wales, The judge, Professor Mucmillau Brown, has made his award as follows : First prize, Johannes C. Anderson, Christchurch i seeoud prize, Hubert Church, Wellington. LuCy E. Smith (Dunedin), and Chas. P. Salmon (Ashburton) received honorable mention. The tirst prize Ode and Professor Maemilku Brown's report will be published iu the principal New Zealand papers simultaneously on March 31st.
