Moutague, wlio was arrested at Holmrt on warrant, for lcuying New Zealand with the property of his creditors, was brought to Invercargill today by Detective Mcllveney, Difficulties were experienced iu securing an order for Montague's extradition. An interesting point of law was argued before a judge, and it seems very doubtful whether a fugitive offender can be legally extradited from the Commonwealth to New Zealand. The ditlieulty was got over in Montague's case, by the latter deciding to withdraw his appeal agaiust oxtradition.
