FOOTBALL.

REFEREES' ASSOCIATION. The annual general meeting of the Taranaki Referees' Association was held in the Council Chambers on Monday. Present: Mr F. Spurdle (in the chair), Messrs Proctor, Bowers, Hopkins and Griffiths (secretary). Apologies for non-attcwUnco were received from Messrs Crews, Kivoll, | and F. T. Bellringcr.

The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £1 lis Id. —Adopted.

The secretary was iiiitructcd to acknowledge the kind expressions contained in a letter from the Star Football Club. It was decided that the names of the senior referees be submitted to the N.Z.11.A. as available lo referee in inter-provincial and other matches.

Ollicers were elected as follows : President : F. T. Bellringer; VicePresidents : Messrs Fitzherbert, J. A. Smyth, W. E. Percival, E. Dockrill, 0. Samuels, D. O'Brien, 0. Symes, A. Bayley, E. Whittle; secretary and treasurer, G. Griffiths; assistant secretary : F. Bower; executive committee : Messrs F. T. Bellringer, G. Hopkins, Griffiths and Bower; auditor: Air A. K. Standish ; board of examiners : F. T. Bcllringer, G. Griffiths, G. Hopkins, F. Bower. A donation from A. Symtli, Esq., was aeknowledged with (hanks. The secretary was instructed to procure tickets ami issue same lo ollicers and members, ami to arrange a conference with the South Taranaki Befcrecs' Association to lie held at Stratford on Thursday, uili April, at 3 p.m. Mr W. Hock ami if. Martin were admitted members of the Association subject to the usual examination being

passed. Air F. T. Bellringc)' was elected vice-president of the £J.Sj.K.A. Mr G. Griffiths, who represented the Association at tlie recent conference of referees at Wellington, gave a full report of tho doings of the conference, aud lias unanimously elected to represent the Association at the conference of referees to lie held at Wellington on April 13.
