BLACKLEG INOCULATION.

At the meeting of tlie Provincial Executive of the Farmers' I'iiion at liawera on Thursday, serious statements regarding the mortality following on inoculation for blackleg were made. Mr .1. Burgess, of Waren, forwarded a list of losses sustained by farmers in the vicinity of Warea, Pungarehu, and Okato, showing that of 059 calves inoculated, il l died, mostly within four days after treatment, lieports were also received from oilier districts, a lengthy Idler mi the subject being read from Mr liuberl Turnbull, of Lepperton. A long discussion followed the reading of tlie reports, several speakers considering that blackleg was communicated by the operation. Mr li. Lambie said the Department of Agriculture desicrvrd credit f«r what it had done. The blackleg mortality had been very considerably lessened. The matter was allowed to stainl over till next meeting, in order that reports might be received from other places.
