NEW ZEALAND ROWING ASSOCIATION. I'liU I'IIKSS ASSOf'l ITION. \\ hm.inhton, March 17. A general meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association was held to-niglit. The matter ol allowing Australian oarsmen aud others from abroad (o compete at the New Zealand championship regattas had been mooted at last annual meeting, when it was decided that no motion could lie taken" , as an alteration iu tjie rules was involved. Notice of motion was, however, given, and to-night's meeting was called so thai a decision might lie arrived at before the coming Championship Regatta at Pictou. Mr Neilsou moved that nothing contained iu any of the rules of this Association shall be held to prevent amateur oarsmen from other countries competing at regattas held under tlie auspices of the New Zealand All. A., provided the approval of the Council h:is been first obtained.—Carried. The Association has received a letter from the Canterbury Association applying for the 1900-7 Regatta to lie held at Lake Forsyth. This will be considered at the annual meeting.
