AMUSEMENTS.

Mil GEOItGE STEPHENSON'S COMPANV. Ihe members of Mr George Stephenson's combination arrived from the North this morning, and will renew acquaintance with local playgoers this evening. The opening piece will be the laughable comedy "Bill Adams," which, it is promised, will be seen tonight to the best advantage, as every accessory will be utilised. A feature of the performance will be the novel ballets introduced by the famous octette of dancers known throughout the colonies as the "Rose Ballerine." A Melbourne critic, in noticing the Company's performance of " Bill Adams said : " The performance was remarkable for the unison and spirit with which the whole company threw themselves iuto their work. They made the brief stay of the skirt dancer before the public a merry, unflagging gallop, and the breezy, reckless nonsense barely allowed time for breathing between the laughs." A novel feature of the production of "A Moorish Maid." which will be staged to-morrow.night, is that the conductor's chair will be occupied by the composer, Mr Alfred Hill, R.C.M.L. This in itself should lend interest to the production.
