THE PREMIER IN NEW PLYMOUTH.
On Monday evening the Tutanekai, with the Right Hon. the Premier, Mrs Seddon, and Miss Seddou on board, berthed at the New Plymouth Breakwater. The vessel was met by Mr E. M. Smith, M.H.R., for Taranaki, Mp D. Berry, President of the Liberal Federation in New Plymouth, and Mps Smith, who went to the harbor 111 a special train, Mr Seddon and his secretaries boarded the tram and arrived here at eight o'clock, the Premier opening voluminous correspondence en route. At Now Plymouth ho was met by Mr and Mrs Dockrill and Mr H. F. Russell. Mr Dockrill, on behalf of the North Egmont House Committee of the National Park Board, brought under Mr Soddon's notice the matter of gravelling and completing the track to the North Egmont Mountain House. He said that the matter had beeu previously represented to Sir Joseph Ward, who had promised to have the matter attended to. As yet, however, nothing had beeu done, and Sir Joseph Ward was now away on a trip to the Old World.
Mr Dockrill referred to the generous treatment received from the Government iu the past, which meant that the Government recognised the superiority of this Mountain House and track over the others round the mountain.
Mr Heddon suggested that wltiit was needed was that he should represent |to the Minister in charge the import | mice of completing the road this season. He would do that certainly. After a short stay at the station, the Premier went on by special train to Wanganui. To-morrow afternoon he opens the new school at Foston,
