Rouvier said tho Govemttttl were unable to stop the taking of tM inventories, but would enforce tho law with prudenco and tact. This was rejected by 261 to 231, Tho entire Eight, half tho Progressive Republicans, and most of the Social, ists and some Radicals voted uiinst the Government. M. Rouvier thereupon resigned.
