COMMITTEE MEETINGS. The Fi nance Committee met on Thursday. Mcintosh be informed that the Council regret that they are unable to grant Inm any further extension of time to connect the Taranaki Hotel with the sewers; that the draft specification of the sanitary contract be referred to the Drainage Committee to report on Monday ; that the Borough Engineer repair the water trough at the Abattoir; that Mr Pikett be informed that the estimated cost of laying H li inch main to his property is £3O (is, and he be request ed to furnish a list of property owners on the pipe-line willing to take tho water; that the question of a lad to assist the Electric Light linesman be referred to the Electric Light Committee with power to act; that tenders be called for the annual supplies in accordance with the specification prepared by the Borough Engineer; that subject to the Borough Engineer being satisfied that the toudcr is in order, Mr L. Lilley's tender of £2O lis for fencing at the Power House be accepted.
