THE COLEMAN SHIELD. ran Miiss association. . Nai'ikii, Feb. 22. i The annual shooting competition for the Coleman Shield took place on the Waipawa rangedo-day. Eight teams competed, the Ranfurly Ritles winning with a score of 'JIM, the others finishing in the following order : —Danncvirkc Ritles USO, Hawkc's Bay Mounted Rifles 1152, Waipawa Ritles 'J 11. Napier Guards 1130. Hastings Rilles 'Jim, Napier Rilles NiH, East Coast Mounted Ritles Slit. The licit tor the highest scorer in the competition fell to Sergeant Pulcy (Danncvirkc Ritles), with a score of lit. -The Boltou Cup, for the highest scorer in a mounted corps, went to Sergeant McCormick, ilawke's Bav Mounted Rilles. The handsome shield presented by Mrs li. Franklyn for competition amongsi Rifle clubs in Ilawkes Bay (live men a side) was fired for, the Weber Rifle Club No. 1 team proving victorious with a score id 135, the Weber Hille Club No. 2 team being second with lu2. 'flic 'faradale llitlc Club (3!I2) and Maraekakaho Hille Club (3IS) were the other competing clubs. Mr 1!. Stewart, of the Weber No. 2 team, with H 5, \ta< the highest scorer for the day.
