DICFAIiTJIKNTAL ACTION. ALL INOCULATION SUSPENDED We have appnreulcly succeeded in arousing the Vcliiiary Department ton realisation of the seriousness of the mortality amongst calves that have been inoculated with blackleg vaccine. Within the past few days various statements have been made by Departmoiital officials to several of our contemporaries, with the object, evidently, Uf minimising the gravity of the situation, and at the same time questioning the accuracy of our assertions, Our information, however, was obtained from unimpeachable sources, and so far lias not been questioned at headquarters, "We understand (hut several of the district veterinary olllcials have been conferring with the Chief "Veterinarian (Mr Gilrutlri in Wellington 011 the matter, and 011 Thursday night it was resol.-ed to suspend further inoculation pending investigation. The local Stock Department accordingly have received instructions to cancel all engagements till fui'ther notice. Consequently the arrangements made for inoculating calves at Leppcrton, Waihi. and various other places, are now postponed, pending the issue of fresh instruclims. The above decision is a yerv very proper one, and ample corporation, of such were needed, of the truth of our charges,
