llcceived 21, 10.5 p.m. Melbovbsk, February 21. Sir J, G.Ward was entertained at luncheon by the Federal Government, the Premier, Mr Deakin, presiding. Mr Bent (Victorian Premier), leading statesmen and citizens were present. Mr Deakin, proposing his health, said lie was sure Sir Joseph Ward would be a prominent figure at the Congress. He spjke liiglily of liiiu as a statesman. A large crowd fare welled him on his departure by train.
