MUNICIPAL ENTERPRIZE.
I'BU I'UKSS ASSOCIATION C'liiiisTi'iU'iU'ii, Feb. 2D, The special committee's report representing to the City Council the desirability of acquiring the property of the Chrislchureh Gas Company, was oittidured by the Council tins evening. The report stated that in the opinion of the committee, it was desirable to acquire the property, aud requested authority to enter into negotiations with tlie Company for the purchase of the plant on a basis which would yield to shareholders of the Company an annual return, free of income tax, equal to the yearly dividends received during the past ten years. After a long discussion, the report was adopted by eight to four.
