DROWNING FATALITY.
IN THE WANGANUI RIVER. TEB MESS ASSOCIATION. Wanganui, February 18, A youth named Hans Buckingham was drowned in the river this after, noon. He and two others were sailing when their boat ran aground. The boat was pushed off, but was upset about 10 feet from the shore. Buckingham, who was the only swimmor of the party, started for tho shore, but suddenly sank, feet foremost, without uttering a word. The others clung to the boat til), res. cued. The body has not been recovered yet.
