MR MASSEY ENTERTAINED.
" THE GREAT GRAVEN IMAGE." Will I'll ESS ASSOCIATION. Auckland, February 18. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Massey) was entertained at a Garden Party on Sati 'day. Between 1500 and 2000 wore present. Mr Masscy, in a speech, said the defeat of the Opposition was mainly due to patronago attaching to the Ministerial position, promises of expenditure of Government money, and organisation. The Opposition, lie said, must organise. They were beaten but they must not take the ('•;fcat lying down. There were 150,000 electors who declined to bow their knees to the Great Graven Image that had been set up.
