The Rev. Arthur Fowler, who has been appointed to the curacv of Si. Mark's, Itcmiicrn, left New Plymouth for Auckland by the Takapuna on Thursday night. Sergeant Haildrell, who has been granted six weeks' leave of absence, left by Ihe mail train on Thursday morning for Taihapc, whence he purposes proceeding overland to the thermal district and Auckland. During the Sergeant's absence, Detective Boddam will be in charge of Ihe New Plymouth police station. The liev 11. Daniels, who has been transferred lo Tiivereargjll. was entertained at a farewell social by the conjircgation of the Primitive Methodist Church on Thursday night. Mr .Elliott Wilson, of Taihapc. wellknown in Tarimaki, is on a brief visit to New Plymouth. Mr J. B. Council has been reappointed a member of (he Tnranaki fiiuul Board. The Secretary of the New Zealand Rugby Football Union yesterday received a cablegram from Mr C.
