* PROMOTIONS AND TRANSFERS

l'Ett PfIESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, February 12. Li accordance with the recommendiitions of tlie recent Police Commission, the following promotions and transfers have been decided upon by the Commissioner, Mr Dinnic :

Sub-Inspector Patrick Black, transferred from Aucklaud to Dnnedin j Sub-Inspector Green, transferred from Dnnedin to Tiuiaru; Sergeant Douglas Gordon, of: Mount Cook Training Depot, promoted to be Sub-Inspector and transferred to Auckland.

The following are appointed station sergeants:—Sergeant Thomas King Oamiiru, and transferred to Dnnedin; Sergeant Samuel Norwood, Waugauui, and transferred to Cliristchurch; Sergeant Charles William Hendry, and transferred to Aucklaud; Sergeant William John McPhair, of Rotoniu and transferred to Wellington. Promotions to Sergeants: Constable Michael Murphy, Wellington; Constable Michael Murphy, Wellington; Constable Thomas Barrett, Waimate; j Constable D. D. Hutton, Johnsonville : Constable James Black, Morton.
