INDUSTRIAL DISPUTE.
A STRONG RESOLUTION
Di'xumx, February !t. I he President of the local bruuch of the Clothing Manufacturers' Association disclaims the idea that there is to be a coulcrcucc between employers interested and representatives of the Tailorcsscs' Union, respecting matters in dispute. At a meeting of the Trade and Labour Council to-iiiglit the following resolution was carried : " That, owing to the continued lockout of a large number of women in the clothing trade in Dunedin, this Council deplores the inaction of the Minister of Labor in failiug to make inquiries into the alleged illegal action of several clothing manufacturers, who are responsible for the present condition of affairs, and again urge the Minister for Labor to take immediate steps to enforce the pro vision of the Conciliation and Arbitra lion Act relatiug lo strikes aud lockouts."
