Taverner, AgentGeneral for Victoria, in the course of an interview, urged Lord Carrington, President of the Board of Agriculture, to introduce a now Butter Bill into the House of Cj unions. Lord Carrington is anxious to do everything possible to appoint a select con, nittce in the House of Commons to take evidence in regaril to the question of moisture ol butter, and ■ blending and "faking of butter, with a view lo forming ft Bill for the protection of the producers aud consumers
Lord Carrington hopes to pass the Bill by June.
