Out of the net quantity available for sale, some 77,000 bales have been sold for Home consumption, 78,000 bales for the Continent, 5000 bales for America, leaving 1000 bales to be carried forward to next series. Australian lamb, prime, 32 to 10 lbs.. 3 7-8 d; ditto, fair average quality. 3 3-Bd. Seconds, market very dull. owing to heavv accumulations of stocks. The market for lamb is very dull, owing to lack of demand, and the decrease in prices has not improved the demand. There is less demand for mutton, and we are selling our consignments steadily without pressing them. Poor demand for beef. Arrivals from River Plate arc likely to be heavy for some time. We tpiote: N.Z. Crossbred lamb, Canterbury, heavy, 3jd; ditto. North Island, heavy, quotations nominal; X .Z. Crossbred mntton, Canterbury, heavy. 3| d; North Island, 3 5-Sd; prime ox beef, fores, 2£d; hinds. 3d; prime lamb, Canterbury, light, tdj North Island, light, quotations nominal. Mutton, Canterbury, light weights, 4>d; Tforth Island, mutton, light, 3Jd. Tallow: Market dull, with a downward tendency. Butter: Market very weak. Copenhagen official quotations, & kroner lower, about 4s b'd per cwt. The future is difficult to forecast.

The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for the week ending 27tli January, amounted to UU,fHK) ewt,, as compared with iIo.OOO for the corresponding period of last year. There is more demand for unsalted than salted.
