On Thursday, at 801 l Block, Mi' Fred. K. jiurdy, of Elthain, the popular Secretary of the Now Zealand Axemen's Association, was married to Miss Minnie Gertrude Pole, eldest daughter of Mr H. Poto, of Bell Block. The Rev. Mr Fowler, of New Plymouth, performed the ceremony, which took ■ place at St. Luke's Church, which had ; been beautifully decorated by friends of. the bride, and presented a very pretty picture. The service was fully choral, The bride, who was given away by her father, and attended by , her sister Ida as bridesmaid, wore a pretty grey embroidered voile dress, trimmed with white, and a white hat ; and ostrich plume to match. She also i carried a beautiful shower bouquet. . The bridesmaid wore a dress of white , muslin, with pink roses and hat to match. Mr J. Mciutyre, of Kltham, ■ acted as best man. Afternoon tea was ■ subsequently served at the residence of the bride's parents to a large number , of friends, Mr and Mrs Hardy leaving ' by the afternoon train from New Plymouth for their new homo at Kltliain. The presents, of which then; was quite an imposing display, com. prised numbers of very useful articles. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a jewelled nock-chain, and to the bridesmaid a gold lace pin with wishbone charm. The bride gave the bridegroom a silk watchguiird with greenstone pendant. Mr Hunt (Wellington) olllciated at the organ in the church, and played Mendelsohn's ' Wedding March." ' MACICINPKIf-CLOW, On Wednesday afternoon a wedding that excited some interest was solemnised at. fit. Mary's Church, New Plymouth, when Mr Charles Henry Mao Kinder, of Inglcwood, was joined in matrimony to Miss Lizzie 'Clow, third daughter of the late Mr Malcolm Clow, of New Plymouth. The ceremony w;is performed by the liev. ]<\ (I. F.vans. The bride, who was given away by her brother. Mr M. Clow, wore a pretty dress or while silk, beautifully embroidered, and wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms and carried a lovely shower bouquet. The Misses Uobbic (21, who acted as bridesmaids, wore also dressed in pretty white drosses and hats to match.' Mr F. Bond attended the bridegroom as best man, and Mr W. Tierney supported as groomsman. A reception was afterwards hold at the residence of Mr lioml, nl Strandon, where a sumptuous wedding breakfast was served in a largo marquee. There was a large number of guests, friends of the newly married couple, and the usual felicitous toasts wore enthusiastically honored.
