As at first it was impossible to gel into the engine room, the lire having, as it was afterwards ascertained, originated in one of the starboard coal-bunkers, a bucket brigade was formed, When the fire iu the engine-room had been got under by this method, tho donkey engine was got to work pumping fl u ier, which was directed 011 to the scat of lire, soon subduing it. The extcntj of tko damage will not be ascertained until a survey has been made.
