PRESENTATION.
A very pleasant function look place last week, when the members of the choir at Whiteley Church entertained Miss Collis at a social evening in view of her approaching majriago. The gathering took place in the junior schoolroom, which was specially furnished for the occasion, the floral decorations being most effective. During the evening, on behalf of (be members of the choir, the liev. J. X. Buttle presented the guest of the evening with a silver plated butter dish ami a silver plated egg-slaml. In making the presentation, Mr Hut tie staled thai Miss Collis was one of theoldesl members of (he choir. She had been a most willing helper in manv wavs in conneelion with the church', amUhc choir wished Miss Collis everv success ami happiness in her new sphere. He also read a letter from the church ollieials acknowledging Miss Collis' many services to the church. Mr Collis replied "H behalf of his daughter, and thanked the choir for their very handsome presents. A very sumptuous supper was afterwards served, and a most pleasant gathering closed with "Auld Laii" Syne," °
