Captain liellringcr, of the >'cw Plymouth Fire Brigade, and Mr A. Weller, secretary lo the Filzroy Brigade, have been appointed to represent their respective 'Brigades at the Fire Brigades' Association's annual conference ■it Nelson next week. They will probably leave by (lie mail train on Thursday morning. Mr Bert Cartwright of the New Plymouth branch of the National Bank, left by the mail train this morning for Wellington, whither he has been trans. I'ei-red.' On Saturday night Mr Cartwright was presented by the members of the New Plymouth Military Band, in which lie has been a prominent clarionet player for some years, with a handsome toilet ease.
