SUNDAY SCHOOL PICNICS.

COMBINED ANGLICAN. The combined Anglican Sunday School picnic, held at Mrs Dyne's gardens, llemvood-road,yesterday, was attended by over 350 scholars, teachers and friends. The picnic was a great success in every way, a contributing factor being the splendid weather prevailing. The children enjoyed themselves immensely, and seemed sorry when the time of rc-iinbarkation for home arrived. The Tiev. P. G. Evans, (he popular head or Si. Mary's, directed proceediiigs, and associated with him were willing workers, amongst whom were Mesdames Doekrill, Evans, Fleetwood, Jeffreys, Staudish, Jury, Olivers.' Misses Bosworth, Thompson, Webster, Baker (2), Evans (2), Staudish, Pellam! Fleetwood, Devenish, Beals, Skinner, Preston, Whitcombe, Butler, Bradbury, Kemp (2), Tisch; and Messrs S. W. Shaw, Skinner, Street, Olivers Binnington, Pepperill, Thompson, Bennett, Hislop, Shaw, Jfev. H. Fouler, and several old teachers, Mrs Phillips' Mrs Devenish, Mrs Webster ami Mr Golding.

WItrTELEV SUNDAY SCHOOL. The annual picnic of the Whilclcy Memorial Sunday School was held on Thursday at the pretty picnic grounds on the t.'i.Miarvin estate. There was a big inn iter of children, and their parents and friends were also strongly represented. The journey was made in brakes without hitchoraccidenl. A very enjoyable day was spent in games, and a sports programme was ■successfully carried out,the licv. J. X. liultle. and the Sunday school teachers and others, keeping |] u . f, m going without intermission. Keen appetites \\vtv appeased by the bountiful and inviting provisions provided, and the return journey lit the cool of (he evening was most refreshing and enjoyable.
