METHODIST CONFERENCE.

At the Primitive Methodist Conference to-day, Messrs Armstrong and Daniel preached trial sermons, and the retiring President preached his annual address. He referred to the work of the church in New Zealand, which, since last Conference M as held here eighteen years ago, had doubled its strength. Gratitude was expressed that war in the Far East had ceased, and the door was opening wider for Christianity in Japan, The prospects of rescinding the the English Education Act were referred to with satisfaction, and, the revival in Wales with gratitude, as were the services of Mr C. M". Luke, as a representative of the Nen Zealand clivreh at the English Conference. Several requests to retain the services of Ministers were granted, and the Elthaiu circuit was formed.
.Reports from stations showed satis, factory advances. The Fire Insurance Fund showed a cover of .W2,610. The report of the Publishing Committee showed an income of t'2DK, nett profits £OS, and assets i'Ki'J.
The balance sheet of the Initialisation Fund showed an income of t:- > 1 and .C-JSit.
