FATAL TRAM ACCIDENT.
A SAD CASE. PER I'RESS ASSOCIATION. Curistchi/hcm, January If, Fanny Louisa Buchanan, aged to, wife of Eljcnezer Buchanan, accountant, met with a fatal accident last evening. She was alighting at Fitzgerald Avenue from the top of a steam tram, which left Cathedral Square for Sumner at 10 p.m., when, according to Miss Manning, who accompanied her, the tram started again before she had got clear. Miss M inning held on to deceased, but soon had to leave go. The tram went a l'cw yards, digging the deceased, who was not run over, and was then pulled up. Deceased had her spine dislocated > and died shortly afterwards without having recovered consciousness.
