THE NEW PLYMOUTH REC.
The Ground Committee of the Now Plymouth Recreation Ground intend to " hustle " the projected improvements along. At the weekly meeting on Wednesday night, attended by Messrs A. Humphries, A. George, H. Ford, G, Griffiths, Tribe, Perham, and Bewlcy, a numbers of "wind-raising" schemes were hatched, and will be put into immediate operation. Subscription lists aro to be opened through the papers; a deputation is to wait on Mr H. Wait respecting arranging for the holding of a cantata during Easter, and the swimming Club is to be asked to arrange a swimming carnival in the Recreation Grounds in about a month, if possible. As the aims of the committee are to effect .much needed improvements in the sports area, we hope that the response of the people to the various appeals may be whole-hearted, and thus cuable the committee to make this beautiful resort what it easily might be from its natural environment and advantages, one of the best athletic grounds in the colony.
