CHINESE ON THE RAND.
ACCUSATION OF TRICKERY. Received 9, 9.43 p.m. Capetown, January 9. Referring to the Lloyd George's accusation of trickory on the Rand, the local Chamber cf Mines states that the Lieut.-Governor, in the ordinary course, sanctioned permits for 151,000 coolies that were required up to June next, without reference to Lord Lyttelton.
Since 20th December, 1250 more applications were received, but were not yet wanted.
