The ease of the unfortunate lnd, Alfred Shcnton, who arrived in the Colon}' in an advanced stage of consumption by the Morayshire a few weeks ago,, has become more involved according to the youth's own statement. The Agents for Shire line affirm that the Captain of the steamer duly examined the stectagc quarters, and during the whole voyago no complaint was mndo to lijni by Shanton as to illness. There w as no suspicion of consumption, or a tendency thereto on board the steamer. To-day the District Health Officer (Dr. Finch} states that the matter of the liftl's expenses at Nurse Maude's camp is under consideration by Customs and Health authorities at Wellington.
