Mokoia, which left for Sydv /to-night, took a valuable shipment of thoroughbred stock, consisting of t!'e stallion Blue Jacket, and the brood mares Campania, Miss Gladys, St. Elyn, Real Blue, Miss Dclaval, Chrysolite, and Forma; and yearling fillies from Field Rose and Nannie respectively.

[By Moti'EOA.] I understand that St. Bill has had a rough time of late. He was entered for several races at the Auckland meeting at Xmas, and on the voyage .up from Sew Plymouth he contracted a cold that afterwards turned to a severe attack of influenza. The St. Clements' colt will be lucky if it takes the turf again. Mahutonga was withdrawn from the Wellington Cup on Saturday last.

A unique compliment was paid *o our contributor "Moturoa" recently. He received three wires, one from Gisborne, and the others from Dunedin and Auckland, asking him for his selections at particular meetings. "Moturoa's" mana is evidently spreading.
