Preston had left the key of his safe in some clothes on changing lor the holidays, and the-burglar, having effected entrance, evidently discovered this unfortunate oversight, for the safe was opened and rilled of its contents, ■Oil in money being missing. A peculiar feature about the robbery is that the thief took only gold and silver, leaving -Co in notes, which were voile-,t up close to the coins, and could liardlv have been overlooked.
