ARRIVAL OF THE 'FRISCO MAIL.
CAUSE OF DELAY. I'EK PKKSS ASSOCIATION. Auckland, January I, At 3 p.m., the Sonoma, s.s., arrived from 'Fri. /o, The steamer was delayed until the niglitof December 15, owing to the mails being lute. This was caused by the .steamer meeting heavy j weather in the Atlantic, and the bar at the Golden Gate being impassable. The Sonoma did not get out until the morning of (he Kith, and then met with a heavy gale lasting '.((> hours, speed having to be reduced, causing the lo»s of!) hours on the passage to Honolulu. The vessel was detained at that port for 15' hours, lauding a large amount of cargo, and was detained at Pago I'ago for loi hours from the same cause. I
