A HAMMEI! THROWING RECORD. run miess association. Di'XKDin, January 4. At the Caledonian Grounds to-day a competition was held for a gold medal to enable Frank Ford, of Invereargill, to attempt to break A. A. Cameron's record of 100 feet 9 inches for throwing the 221b hammer. Ford, at the second attempt, threw 100 feet lOi incites, which was eertilied to by the Inspector of Weights and Measures, aud a number of gentlemen connected with the local Caledonian Societv.
